"Photography is so much more than just pressing the shutter button—it's a journey of growth, creative exploration, and self-expression. I'm Flora Nguyen, a Vietnamese “amateur” photographer in high school and I've been on this journey since I was five years old, with theguide of my grandpa as my only instructor. Born and raised in Da Nang, Vietnam, I grew upsurrounded by beautiful landscapes and natures and hence why photography quickly becamemy hobby. Fast forward to now, after almost a decade capturing moments, photographybecame more than just a hobby but a lifelong passion.
“The Uncaptured" is a collection of lessons I've learned along the way - lessons I wish I hadknown earlier, though I realize they had to be experienced, not just told. Within these pages, you'll find tips, mindset advice, and personal stories, all aimed at helping beginners andaspiring photographers discover their own path."

Fashion Design:
The Early Creative Stage
Long before photography became my main focus, there was also fashion design in my artistic journey. This period of fashion design was sparked after I knew about Iris Van Herpen's mesmerizing collections that intertwined machines, AI, and fashion. While I was not able to build machines and kinetic patterns like her, I challenged myself with fashion design, dreaming of one day creating something like her.

“Glow" was a cape made of thrown away plastic sheets collected in the laundry room of my freshman dorm. Made in December 2021 in the tiny freshman dorm room, although my room was full of glitter after, I recalled being so proud of this cape being my first step into the later long journey of fashion design.
