My Little Corner
Welcome to my little corner! This space is an outlet to step outside my comfort zone, have fun, explore and challenge myself. Here you can find me in saber fencing or drumming, which are my most favorite two activities that give me energy, refresh along the way. This list would expand even more in the future because for me, it's all about pushing boundaries and seeing where it takes me. Come along with me!
Sabre Fencing
I'm the captain of the women's saber fencing team, currently fencing Varsity in senior year and JV in junior year. Fun fact: I used to be the most unathletic person ever due to my short height, and I was deeply into STEM and art. I decided to try saber fencing, the fastest type of fencing, to explore what else I could do beyond my usual interests. After 2 months of starting fencing, I placed third in a novice fencing match against schools from around Connecticut which was my huge milestone. It may not sound like a big deal, but it felt like a significant step forward to me. I still get goosebumps thinking about that last bout when my blade struck and the light lit up. It was such an exhilarating moment that motivated me to continue fencing, and now I’ve been at it for almost two years. This experience boosted my confidence and encouraged me to keep trying new things and exploring new aspects of myself.

Drumming
My encounter with drumming was both unexpected and destined. Several months ago, my friends’ band was preparing to perform “Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis, and they needed a last minute drummer. I randomly walked into their practice and decided to try playing the drums for the song, despite having no prior experience. To my surprise, I ended up performing with them just a week later!

Since then, drumming has become my favorite pastime, and I’ve played at school festivals and fairs. I’m so grateful for this experience, as it has shown me what I can achieve when I’m willing to push my boundaries.
